Albi Serfaty

Aqua Creations was founded in 1992 by Albi Serfaty and his then-wife, a talented sculptural artist.

She served as Creative Director of Aqua Creations until 2011, before establishing her own independent art studio. Her direction crafted the studio's iconic permanent collections of the Morning Glory, Palms, Orchestra, Mod, Apaya, Nara, Jewel, Stand By and Furniture families.

Since 2011, Albi Serfaty has served as Creative Director and Chief Designer of Aqua Creations, leading the studio's in-house artisans and makers in crafting new, contemporary collections.

Albi is driven by a desire to create lights that evoke emotion and views each design as an extension of himself as an artist. The studio's ever-evolving oeuvre continues to experiment in new materials and technology.

Since its founding in 1992, Aqua Creations Luminary Design Studio has taken inspiration fro the organic shapes and forms found in the sea and on land.

Born in Jerusalem, Albi Serfaty was raised in a highly creative family. From an early age, he was drawn to the hypnotic nature of light. After receiving his first camera and darkroom at age 13, Albi became a self-taught photographer, capturing the world around him.

As a young adult, he began his creative and professional career as a photographer's assistant at Bow Street Studio in London. He later entered the advertising industry, serving as a professional still life photographer for global campaigns.

In 1992, he co-founded Aqua Creations Luminary Design Studio with his then wife. Since 2011, Albi Serfaty took over the reigns and has served as Creative Director and Chief Designer of the studio.
