Interiors by Aqua: Biarritz Atlantic Apartment
Located in the coastal city of Biarritz in Southwest France, sisters Alice and Mathilde Rose of AgenceRose Design were entrusted with reimagining a 156-square-meter apartment overlooking the sea. Inspired by the refined geometry of Biarritz’s Art Deco heritage and the natural beauty of the Atlantic, the design invites the outside in, treating ocean views as framed works of art.
Inside, wood plays a central role—from classic herringbone floors to moody dark oak paneling—establishing a rich, grounding palette. The walls and kitchen flow seamlessly, creating a continuous backdrop that emphasizes the view beyond. Two sculptural wall pieces enrich the bar and splashback, adding artistic depth without overpowering the space. Neutral fabrics and thoughtfully chosen furnishings bring a soft contrast to the bold architectural lines. The result is a refined coastal retreat that balances structure with serenity.
At the dedicated modernist working nook overlooking the sea, AgenceRose Design placed a Horn Floor Lamp by Aqua Creations. Clad in “Redwood Silk” from the Color Codex, the bold lamp creates a statement piece in the room. The Horn Floor Lamp is a member of the Morning Glory Family and Collection of lighting, sculptural organic lamps that cast a soft, dreamlike glow.
