Interiors by Aqua: Villa Flora Lake Como
In the charming Italian village of Cernobbio along Lake Como, renowned Interior Designer Ingrid Steyrer undertook a two year restoration endeavor of the historic Villa Flora. The 19th century Gothic Revivalist property was once home to distinguished clergyman, Monsignor Antonio Ceruti, an archivist for the Cathedral in Milan and Como. Purchased by Ceruti in 1860, he would spend the last thirty years of his life in the beloved villa, gardening and writing historical manuscripts.
After years of decay, Ingrid Steyrer stepped in to bring the property back to life and its original grandeur. The process restored hundreds of original terracotta tiles and old frescoes, along with a complete redo of the home's bathrooms in marble, onyx and mosaics.
Steyrer included nine lighting fixtures from Aqua Creations in the Villa Flora.
