DesignMiami/ 2023 features Aqua Creations' Curio exhibition, "Bodies of Water", running from December 5-10th in Miami Beach.
Featuring one-of-a-kind lighting, objets d’art and furniture, the exhibition responds to this year's curatorial theme of “Where We Stand, Reflections on Place & Purpose” by Anna Carnick.

This one-of-a-kind coffee table was created by artist Albi Serfaty in collaboration with Ceramicist Maiyan Ben Yona. Crafted from saw dust on plywood, the table features a beige lava finessing, with ingrained blue ceramic elements. The shapes are influenced by natural aquatic forms, and are set within the furniture as a stone is placed within fine jewelry. This modernist piece is subtle and striking in the same breath, and is the perfect centerpiece of any room.

Asteroidea Side Table is a collector’s piece from Aqua Creations’ beloved furniture collection. This one-of-a-kind work takes its name from the scientific family of the Starfish, Asteroidea. Building upon the studio’s fascination with the sea and aquatic life, the table is from this earth, yet is finished in neon green to suggest an origin from the stars beyond. Asteroidea Side Table is crafted by artist Albi Serfaty.

This one-of-a-kind work takes its name from the Latin phrase for “Land and Sea,” influenced by the intersection of aquatic elements with the shoreline. Rich blue and green ceramic tiles are meticulously ingrained into the design, while the table’s weighted base allows for a natural sway of motion while maintaining secure balance. Terra Marique Side Table is crafted by artist Albi Serfaty, and finished in a calming blue color.

Meticulously crafted by hand in the Aqua Creations’ studio, these kinetic mobile hanging lights command presence in any space. The shapes of the fixture follow the aquatic forms of the Lake Collection from Aqua Creations and naturally sway with the air currents of the room. Replacing silk, the lights are clad in natural upholstered straw, creating an organic and warm, cream ambiance.

The Lake Chad Table Lamp combines style and functionality for a versatile lamp whose leg height can be adjusted and shade rotated for unique styles and configurations. This perfect deskside companion for reading and ambient lighting follows the geographic outline of Lake Chad, an endangered freshwater lake at the junctions of four Central and Western African nations. The lamp is composed of high-quality materials, with a mirrored stainless steel body and a Flame color tusser silk clad lamp.

LAKE TAHOE WALL LIGHT
The Lake Tahoe Wall Light follows the geographic outline of the largest Alpine Lake in North America, shared between the states of California and Nevada. The beloved freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range is a destination for its scenery, winter sports and summer recreation. This piece by Aqua Creations features a lamp in the studio’s signature Flame color silk, mounted on a round wooden back base.

LAKE VICTORIA WALL LIGHTS
The Lake Victoria Wall Lights feature a sleek, black metal finish and are clad in the studio’s signature Coal silk color. Functioning at the intersection of art and light, the lamp can be displayed as wall art or illuminated with its natural yellow light shining through and via its LED-red backlight for an extra wow factor. The light takes its name from Lake Victoria, one of the seven African Great Lakes that span East, South and Central Africa. It is the world’s largest tropical lake, with its basin countries of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
